Gathering in Georgia: Laying the Groundwork for FLAC’s First Grantmaking Pilot
The FLAC DesignTeam, Coordination Team, and several Funder members will participate in a workshop to lay the foundations of the Co-laboratory’s first grantmaking pilot. The meeting will take place in Tbilisi, Georgia, a few days before the Human Rights Funder Network’s Conference in the same city.
After synthesizing the first outcomes of the Regional Mapping, one of our objectives is to start articulating what feminist climate justice means for FLAC by identifying issues, thematics, trends, politics, processes, and case studies. This collective process will allow FLAC to start answering the question of who we want to resource.
In addition, we will collect the first outcomes of the Conscious Dialogues with the goal of identifying fundamental elements of feminist climate-just progressive funding, which we’ll implement as part of FLAC's first grantmaking pilot. In this manner, FLAC will start answering the question of how we want to resource.
At the in-person workshop, we will continue to grapple with many of the issues, discussions, and ideas being explored by the Working Groups and being shared in the FLAC-wide monthly calls. Our intention is to begin grounding the fundamental elements that make up the co-creation of FLAC’s first grantmaking pilot. The outcomes of this workshop will be shared with the entire FLAC, and they will be complemented in a second workshop later in the year.
We are excited to continue this journey and encourage you all to stay tuned as there will be a couple of online sessions which you will be able to join if you’re not in Tbilisi. Your experience and expertise are invaluable, and we are certain that together we will experiment with and discover new and better ways of doing feminist climate justice philanthropy.
